Access: Signed in to Mint, with Site tools available in Codex WebMCP lets Codex work directly with your open Mint page and signed-in session. Ask it to build a Studio scene, animate a shot, render it, and attach the saved video to Chat. You can review and adjust the same scene in Studio as you work.

Open Mint in the built-in browser

Access: Signed in to Mint, with Site tools available in Codex
  1. Use Codex in the latest desktop app and open Mint in its built-in browser.
  2. Sign in to Mint and open the Project you want to use.
  3. In the browser’s address bar, open Site tools, then Available site tools to check that Mint’s tools are available.
OpenAI currently supports Site tools with GPT-5.6 Sol and GPT-5.6 Terra. Site tools are unavailable with GPT-5.6 Luna and in Enterprise or Edu workspaces; availability also depends on rollout and the current page. Check OpenAI’s Site tools guide for current requirements. You can ask Codex:

Create and animate a scene

Access: Signed in to Mint, with Site tools available in Codex Describe the objects, composition, camera movement, and duration. Tell Codex whether to use the current scene or create a new one.
Review the scene in Studio. Adjust it yourself or ask Codex for changes:
For the manual steps, see Build and animate the shot.

Render and prepare the Chat prompt

Access: Signed in to Mint, with Site tools available in Codex Once the shot looks right, ask Codex:
Codex can perform the Add to chat handoff through WebMCP. The saved render becomes a reference in the visible Chat draft. Attaching the render and drafting the prompt do not start video generation. Keep the Mint tab open while rendering. Ask Codex to confirm the render is saved before continuing.

Generate and review the video

Access: Signed in to Mint, with Site tools available in Codex Review the attached render, prompt, and selected generation preset. Codex can inspect or change the preset before sending; describing a higher-quality look in the prompt does not change the selected preset. Send the message yourself or tell Codex:
Mint follows the same Studio-reference workflow as a message you send yourself: it creates an appearance Preview, then generates the video. When approval is required, review or edit the Preview and click Generate Video. With automatic generation enabled, Mint continues after the Preview is ready. Studio rendering, appearance Previews, and video generation use Mint Credits. Codex can check progress: a submitted prompt confirms that the message was accepted, while a playable video confirms that generation has finished. For another take, continue in the same Mint chat so the original references and creative direction carry forward. See Revise a generated video.

If Site tools are unavailable

Access: Site tools availability depends on your Codex setup Check that Mint is open in the desktop app’s built-in browser, you are signed in, and your Project is open. In Settings → Browser → Permissions, check Enable site tools. Ask Codex to check the tools available on the current page again after opening or switching Projects. Tools belong to the open page. Closing it or navigating away can make them unavailable. See OpenAI’s Site tools guide for browser and model requirements, or follow the manual video workflow in Mint. Next step: Create Videos
